Need help removing back ground?

Im trying to remove this white back ground to make it transparent how do i do this?

With a standard white background, if you are using Photoshop just look for the magic wand tool and click anywhere on the white bg. It will select the the whole BG and outline the char. Then just press delete.

Also ill help with this one...

EDIT : here is what it should look like. Keep in mind with white BG's specifically this one just the magic wand tool is not enough. You will have a 1-2px wide white outline around the character. So then you have to go through at max zoom and remove that white line. but I did the first part for you. I dont have enough time at this current moment to go through and actually remove that whole white line.

EDIT: well thats what it should look like. But there is a small part of his jacket missing. Ill fix that for you real quick aswell.

EDIT2 : best I could do atm. Im kinda strapped for time. Need any help ill try and do it tomorrow.

when you do the wand tool, even with a low tolerance, you'll be removing some of his hair, because the top of the head has a light source above it that makes the hair shine. you'll want to use the polygonal lasso tool for that part first.

now all you have to do is magic wand the pink background away, and zoom in to touch up with the eraser.
