Versus Mode

Is there a way to play versus mode against the computer instead of having to do arcade or survival or training

go to watch mode then during the intros press ctrl+1 and it makes it where player one is human controlled but make sure you have allow debug keys=1

why does that only work 10% of the time

make sure you press CTRL+1 at the beginning of the fight with the character you want to fight with
CTRL+1 disables AI for player 1,CTRL+2 does that for P2(doing it again enables the ai,so if you enable it again,it won't deactivate sometimes,you have to do it before the AI routines start)

Go to vs mode and press crtl+2.

I love dueling in Watch Mode.
Couldn't there be a way to disable the Player One AI all the time?
That way it would simply be, enter Watch mode and play. and rename it to Duel 
I know that CTRL+1 isn't really long to do but it sucks when the AI routine starts and you have to try again.
