New Problem
« on: November 27, 2008, 08:17:28 PM »
Okay, now the sound is stable, at least in gameplay anyways, thats all I really care about.
Except, now music only plays in practice mode, and won't play in versus or arcade T_T

Anyone know what might be wrong?

this is winmugen plus I have these problems, not normal mugen.
Are those file compatible, or for normal mugen?

Your going to have to link me, and give more detailed instructions sorry. I tried going through your posts, and all I found was this: http://www.infinitymugenteam.com/Forum_345/index.php?topic=12244.0

If I do that, it crashes my mugen. So I guess I need that cfg file, but I don't know where your cfg file is.

yea thats the thread go to the 4th page of the thread the second post on that page from me contains the info for both a mugen.cfg, also you have to copy and paste the initial information to notepad and save the file as winmugen.ini, and place that with mugen not in the plugin file with the mugen.exe, Its worked for many others it should work for you to also look further down the page to find spidermews plugin, and on page 5 is O Ilusionista plugin

Nope, the music still isn't playing properly.
GAH! that just made it waaayyy worse. Now the rare times it did work it just studders out terribly or doesn't play at all. Also, mugen is crashing constantly...

If you copied that info to an .ini file, did you give it the same name as your MUGEN executable? In other words, if the actual program file is named "mugenplus.exe", the text file you create needs to be "mugenplus.ini".

Also, what plugins are you using?

Well, I have a solution for playing ogg files (Windows XP) and any other file that mugen can play for that matter.

XPCodecPack-2.0.6

after that is installed you then need to copy into or apply which plugin that is needed into your mugen.cfg file

plugin = looptype=2, plugins/in_vorbis.dll, ogg  <--------plugin needed and file type
plugin =looptype=2, plugins/DJ-VAN.dll, mp3, mp2, mpg, in_cube.dll, adx, n_mp3.dll, in_mpc.dll, mpc

..etc, etc...

you gotta use it in conjunction with the all the plugins and you'll be able to play almost any type of file in mugen.

Also if you're trying to play music in stages make sure to include subfolders
Example:

[Music]
bgmusic = sound/Epoq-Lepidoptera.ogg

Let us know the results.  %%-

Sorry you typed all that for nothing, but it is mp3 files that I'm using.

I did everything correctly i'm sure, I named it after my executable  .ini and the likes.
As for plug ins, I only used the ones that Lifewater told me to use...

If you truly want to make it more efficent, try the first or second post, not the third of the winmugen.ini. You can also put this in your select.def

kfm/kfm.def, randomselect, music=, order=1

this helps with the random/ randomselect countinue problem
additionaly you can try to adjust the plugins yourself by using

http://www.esnips.com/doc/3e02a098-6710-4e6b-877a-782faf094d35/Mugen-Windows-Configurator-v4h

save your select somewhere other that the folder in data as this will overwrite your select file
this configurator has many advantages it will organize all of your characters alphabeticaly, it will identify .defs you may have skipped when adding a character or stage.
It adds stages, and characters automaticaly

You do have to go back into your select.def and replace all
randomselect, includestage=0 with , randomselect, music=, order=1

and mugen will work, additionaly you can adjust or try to adjust the plugins using the options/ open mugen plugins.
Again Good Luck and try the spidermew plugin it should work well also avalible on the 4th page of the .mp3 fixed thread
