I used Windows Media Player on my Windows XP.

I 2nd on some information plz?

My girlfriend's Windows XP (as I was telling you before, eSkRo) had been harddrive cleansed and no longer can play DVD's; it's prompts an missing plug-in error. She's also using Windows Media Play 11 I believe (I just updated it 2 days ago.)

Also (Sorry to hi-jack your thread S.A  o.O#)
But on my Windows Vista, my friend just hooked me up with some M4V filed movies (Harold and Kumar and Fear/Loathing in Las vegas, but my Windows Media player and InterVideo DVD programs both don't recognize it? How can I make these work? He claims there good files.

You need to install the m4v codecs. Check these sites:
http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/H-264-M4V-codec-windows-t82391.html
http://www.mp3-converter.biz/tag,codec%20m4v.html

You can also install Quicktime 7, to install the codec.

I downloaded FFDShow and it gave me a lot of dll files, but still not working in Windows Media player, I'm downloading Quicktime 7 now.

One more question (Sorry Again S.A), what about M4a files? My buddy also hooked me up with Immortal Technique, Gym Class Heroes, Lupe Fiasco, and some hip-hop podcase from his Video Ipod and there all unreconizable because i don't have an Ipod...?

EDIT: Quicktime did it! Thanks Nick09!

To play DVDs using Windows Media Player
you must have DVD decoder/MPEG-2 decoder
installed on your computer!
By default
Windows XP does not include one.

Now my suggestion,
install "K-Lite Codec Pack 4.2.5 Full"
here-> http://www.free-codecs.com/download_soft.php?d=4807&s=95
and now you'll be able to watch 99.9%
of all video formats available on planet earth...
just set the file association with Windows Media Player
when installing K-lite....
