Final Fantasy 1 IMT play through thread.

As a lot of you may know, I have quite a lot of spare time at work and I'm a big FF fan.
I've decided to play through ff1 using the names of friends here at IMT, just for fun and as a community thing. I plan on posting up news of where I'm at and of which chars are doing what (at certain points, not every little thing though) Feel free to start your own game and we can play through together discussing where we're up to & what we're having trouble with etc.
I'll be playing either the gba or ps1 version & if anyone needs the emulator and/or rom (for either), just PM me.

As I said though, I am looking for people to donate their names for my game. There are 6 classes to choose from but only 4 slots, I definately need a healer so a white or red mage (if no-one wants that spot, I'll take the red mage slot)

The stuff I plan on posting at the moment is, who is dying the most, getting the most critical hits, finishing blows on bosses etc. I'm sure I'll come up with new things as time goes by.

I'm using Visual boy advnce (great gba emu) seeing as that mugen guy was the first to post which char, I guess I have to give him the last spot....So that makes me the red mage.

As for the rest of you guys, sorry but that's all four spots taken for this one. I don't mind if any of you want to run a play through of your own and post everything in here, after all it's just a bit of fun.
It would be cool to play through at the same time as others so we could all help eachother or share experiences etc. If this goes well, I'll do the others. I have FF1-9 on ps1 (including a fan translated 3) plus loads of other rpg's

The journey began last night


This was the 2nd fight, hollowboy almost died from a kick to the nuts, but in the end KPT25 bludgeoned it to death & we all levelled up. Unfortunately I only got a 2HP bonus whereas others, such as hollowboy, got 20+HP bonus. Jealousy and tiredness sent me to bed.

The journey will continue shortly as we leave to rescue Sarah, the king's daughter.

Update : So far.....

TM guy is the quickest & Hollow is the slowest.
Hollow got eaten alive by some wolves outside Garland's stony bedroom, so the rest of us went in and battered him (@lv5) kpt25 got the killer blow.

Hollow was brought back to life and was happily killing gigas worms with his fire magic. Then he & I both got killed by an ogre with 3 pet g.worms. The other 2 pressed on and met matoya. She was upset cos someone had stolen her crystal eye. At first we thought it was that mugen guy, but turns out it wasn't.

A quick trip back to Corneria to resurrect me & hollow (and get me some fire magic) and we're off again. The horses keep killing hollow though.

I'm leaving work soon...hopefully, so here's what's happened so far:

Captain Bikke, the softest pirate ever gave us a ship coz we killed 9 of his crew. The soft arse didn't even fight us himself.

good i'm at level 10...i might start something like that in an RPG game...you actually gave me an idea of starting something similar...but with a pokemon game...

I was thinking of doing that but I've got loads of pokemon hacks to try out so I decided to go for it with final fantasy. Let me know what you decide.
