Do you download characters you don't even know?

I know some people who actually believe that people should download characters that they are familiar with. My problem that with that belief is that there are tons of good characters out there. To limit your mugen to just characters that you know seems boring to me. What do you guys think?

Well of course everyone must download characters they dont know. Its the point of mugen. Mugen is for bunch of other game players fighting each other cuz if i wanted 2 have a roster full of dragonball z characters id just buy budokai..... U get what im saying?

I sometimes download char even if I don't know them. I've got a bunch of chars that if I haven't tried them I wouldn't have known how awesome they are. It's really hit or miss. Sometimes you get one that sucks or is broken and other times your like this guy is great!

Yes & No.

I put together one mugen strictly for capcom chars and the other has everything/anybody else in it. I honestly have been more focused on the Capcom one because of familiarity and I <3 Capcom .  The other ranges from Originals, SNK, GG, Asuka 120%, Anime, US Toons, Pockets, Chibi and so on. Its good to have the 2 seperated because I always forget about buttons, moves, commands and hypers and it keeps me in mind of learning how to use all chars.

*wasnt that the whole point of mugen anyway?

(it helps having different chars to try and create pals for too)

I definitely download characters I'm not familiar with since they help me expand my mugen coding knowledge.

yes i do i like finding the best chars to make my mugen the best game there is.

i used to be a total noob and download a lotta random characters because they seem interesting was trying to get a big collection  i reached 8 gigs full of characters i hardly played with 90 percent and then my pc crashed i lost everything, i have calmed down now and only get characters that look remotely interesting

I did at first, but then i tryed out a couple of characters i never heard of and then i decided to just dl people I dont know, because everyone else kept talking about some i had no clue who they were.
I never had heard of a single KOF character before i got into mugen.

me too, didnt know about kof, guilty gear or the other stuff... but with mugen the point is shaing and trying new creatons, helps the community grow like that... hell this week i downloaded a lot of chars that I really dont know about/havent tried yet, thats also the cool thing about trying new stuff u never know what you'll get til u try

I do the same thing but Im really picky. I tend to lean towards the more agressive chars more. But others I pick up if they are good defensively, fast, chainable. etc. etc.

Mostly rely on vids and then I'll go test them out for myself w/practice and a few survival runs.
