Terminator Sarah Connor Chronicles
« on: October 01, 2008, 09:10:14 AM »
I was just wondering, how many people on this forum actually watch this show?

Personally I like it because most episodes have a ton of nods to the first two films.

Here's the preview for next weeks episode.

I noticed at 0:11 the 888 is actually using the same gun Arnold used in Terminator 1, The .45 with longslide.

I've been thinking of getting this but I've heard the second season is in danger of being cancelled.

Would you recommend it to a fellow terminator fan?

Honestly, I don't think the second season will be canceled.
All the Season 2 promo's suggested they had finished filming the entire S2.

Personally I like TSCC because it's more clever then the movies, but some episodes are a bit long when it's all talk, like the last episode, it was the origins of Cameron, and Sarah told a pregnant girl how her life was when she was pregnant.
Although some episodes have a lot of action. Like the first episode of the 2nd season. Next mondays episode seems to be action-packed with the 888 hunting the crew down.

The problem with tv shows is you have a long time for them. 1 episode of TSCC = 1 hour
Roughly each Terminator movie is about an hour and a half to 2 hours, meaning tv shows require a lot of patience.  I heard after Season 1 was finished that their budget was doubled for season 2, and the dvd sales I'm sure add up, so I'm almost positive that S2 won't be canceled, although I don't think the show is going to last more then 5-6 seasons, because of a lot of filler.

If you hated Terminator 3 then this tv series is more for you, because they go back to the first 2 movies and bring a lot of things back while adding new things and nice plot twists.

Last thing, Terminator: Salvation should be good because they have the same writer that did Dark Knight, and if anybody knows how to write a movie based off something, it's that guy.

Honestly I didn't mind T3, dunno why most people hate it, as far as the terminator storylines go, as in the movies, it seemed a fairly logical movie.
I'll give this show a shot, I'm currently watching prison break but I need something else to tide me over til lost is back on telly.

The reason I didn't care for T3 was because it was too cliche, and corny.

T1 was awesome because it was something new to the movie scene. Robots declaring war on earth, and etc.
T2 was awesome because they twisted it where the original Terminator is the protector, and Sarah, and John had to destroy the remains of the Terminator from the previous film.
T3 sucked because it was more of the same as T2, but the parts that really made it suck was the male strip club scene, the talk to the hand convenience store scene, the fact that they killed off Sarah, introduced some new chick I didn't care about, have future John killed off (I just thought it was very surreal that after leading an army and destroying millions of Terminators, he would just get killed by one simply because he was "emotionally attached" to a specific model). Then there were a lot of other corny things too, like the TX's head spinning during the fight scene, and the fact that she always walked. If running was part of her program she might have actually killed John and Kate.
One thing I don't like about T2 and T3 though, is what's up with the sunglasses? I mean, I know it makes Arnold look cool, but in the first movie the sunglasses was used to hide his left robot eye.

I'm probably thinking too much on it, but I guess I'm just a die-hard fan of the Terminator series.

I've seen episodes here and there... Suprisingly, by the end of each episode I get what they're talking about... The new episode that aired a few days ago was weird at first... but then I was like..... "ooooooohhhhh...... I get it now..." lol...

 :)

Yeah, I had no clue where they were getting at with the first half of the episode, of course it made sense later on. They always tend to do that kind of thing. The only thing I don't like about that episode was Cameron cracking Allison's neck. It would have been cooler if Allison were to escape later on and go to the past somehow.

Edit: Although I know why they killed Allison off. If you remember in Terminator 2, Arnold says "Typically the subject being copied is terminated", so I guess if they didn't kill her off it would have contradicted T2.

Quite Possible:
Quote
With ratings far below even the network's worst predictions, Fox could pull the plug on production for "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" as early as this week.

The network has been disappointed by "Sarah Connor's" numbers so far this season, and some executives feel that the show is dragging down numbers for "Prison Break," which airs as a lead-out.

"Audiences just aren't responding to the show," a Fox source tells SyFy Portal. "Our biggest surprise are the 18-to-49s [a key advertising demographic], those numbers are in the toilet."
So what will happen?

"All I can say is that production will likely stop, and I would think that Fox might try to air some of the episodes already in the can," the source said. "But I don't know. They don't want to lose 'Prison Break,' so there could be some schedule shuffling in the future."

Thanks dude, Didn't the T-1000 do a hell of a lot of walking aswell though? and I think there was 1 scene where she ran after them. Apart from that, I can see most of your points about not liking it, I'm not a die hard fan, just enjoy them.

The first 3 episodes last season weren't all that spectacular . But I continued to watch . I am really liking this show . Can't wait for the girl that is a T-1000 to start morphing , they showed it on one of the previews I seen .

She's been morphing a lil bit sense the first episode of s2. The first episode she transformed from a urinal....

One of the episodes after that, she transformed into some guy to take over a power plant. Although she's not the T1000.
She's the T1001. A slight upgrade. Nobody really knows what her special powers are.
