[WIP] Kagura, the wind demon (aka OHNOES Not Another Inuyasha Char)

...aka Kagura, the wind demon with a curious fetish for zombies and skeletons.



As far as gameplay is concerned, she will not be following the same system as Kikyo, and instead hers will be a combination of Smash Bros. Melee, Melty Blood, and CvS2, with some elements from MvC and IaMP on the side. An overview of this would be something along the lines of:

X - Weak Attack. This would be somewhat identical to Kagura's weak attack in FFT, except it can be chained into itself once for a "medium" attack, similar to MvC2.
Y - Strong Attack. Same as above, except it can be chained into either a projectile, special, super, or Arc-Drive
Z - Charge. Almost exactly like the charges that the KoF chars and Choujin's DBZ chars have.
A - Manual Heat activation. Same as Heat/Blood Heat pretty much.
B - Specials. Would behave in the same manner as Feudal Fairy Tale/Smash Bros. Direction + Button. Can only be comboed into her supers or "Arc Drive", which is similar to the Arc Drive command in MB: HCF+B instead of HCF+C
C - Warp/Dodge. Since Kagura doesn't have a roll, a DBZ high speed dodge remniscient to Choujin's DBZ chars goes here. Also able to perform an Alpha Counter.
Start - Enemy Skill. This can be enabled/disabled by modifying her code. Basically Kagura will learn new moves as she encounters different opponents. Useful for survival mode. This would consist of all of Kagura's "Easter Egg" moves as well.

As far as combos are concerned, it would follow MvC2 with the 2 buttons, with each special and such having different priorities.


Kagura's Air dash. Her ground dash is identical.


Her standing strong attack. This is one of Kagura's 4 basic melee attacks, not including her Medium attacks or command attacks.

And of course, the charged version of Kagura's Dance of Blades. Moves slower, but hits 3 times.

After a while of trying to code this damn thing right, I present to you: Kagura's Trap of the Undead!

Too late. Eventually that hand has to give way eventually. Time to follow up with another attack while she's immobilized.

In addition to the hand releasing the opponent once hit, the opponent takes 33% less damage from Kagura's attacks.

This looks like it's going to be a blast to play with! Kagura was easily one of my favorite characters from the anime, and I've been hoping someone would pick her up for MUGEN. I'm very happy to see you doing this one, since I know you'll make a great character out of her. Your Kikyo is easily the best take on a character from this series out there, so I'm really looking forward to this one! Best of luck!

Kagura now has the following included:

• All basic crouching attacks
• Backwards dash
• Working Heat & Blood Heat states
• Her Arc-Drive, which is about 80% complete. Let's just say her Arc Drive isn't exactly something Kagura would be proud of.

So I managed to beat 2 events in one, but more importantly will be what happens in 3 days. Also, the new moves shown:

• Dance of the Tengu - a small short-ranged tornado that juggles opponents.
• Wind Cutter - Kagura's weakest projectile, but it has heat seeking properties.
• Dance of the Hurricane - can be used as a second air dash. This move is perhaps the most flexible in Kagura's combos.
• Dance of the Crane - Just its execution alone seems to hint that Kagura has secretly been receiving training from Rugal Bernstein and his famous Genocide Cutter.
