Greetings Infinity Mugen Team.
I started creating and showing off my original char at Mugen Fighters Guild. As a newbie to Mugen Character making, I've finally finished the standard starter anims... for my Original Comic Book Character: Punishous. There are no more blank animations, he has everything from standing, to jumping to death anims. My next stage of the char making process now is the special moves. This'll be a toughie to get right, as I have seen from other chars I want Punishous to have a special feel and technique as to how he is  controlled and played, and of course it won't be the same without all the original quotes and poses that make Punishous who he is. Heh, a lot of it will probably go over your head with all the references harking back to my comics.

Here's a little bio for you guys so you can get an understanding as to his personality and fighting style.


Full Name: Proffessor "Punishous" Muncherous
Species: Muncherous. - (Genetically Engineered Lifeforms created by a Ruthless Warlord called Egg.)
Occupation: Inventor, Chancellor and Interrogator.
Homeworld: Planet Munch. Dimension W.
Deity: Muh. (Pronounced - Mer.)
Weapons: Hand Buzzer, Laser Whip, Hex Vision Ray, Assortment of Guns.
Appearance: There are three breeds of Muncher, Yellow being the dumbest and usually used as labourers and assistants. Cream being the normal kind in Muncher society. King Munch is cream. Punishous is the Purple breed of Muncher, these are the most intelligent and often carry a genetic trait of psychic abilities and Hex Powers.
Character Traits: Punishous, like all Munchers, is a fragile being. He is made of many alien materials, made from a infamous alien recipe known as the "Sinerus Recipe". They mostly containing an ingrediant known as "Slot". This is a fragile substance that helps Munchers with their flexibility and lightning speed. Munchers are often heard saying "Better Peeeowww off!" before zooming off at great speed, leaving a dust cloud and making the sound of a racing car (Eiiiiim!) in their wake. Because of this Punishous is extremely weak but is almost impossible to hit. What Munchers make up for in lack of strength they make up for in technology and mass of numbers. Munchers love guns and they're favoured firearm is the infamous "Biwa Gun", named after the sound the lazer beam makes. Munchers live up to their name too and can eat through anything and anyone. They are known in Dimension W as an infestation, like Gremlins they multiply purely by getting wet and they munch and blast there way through the universe.
History: Punishous arrived on the Planet Munch one day in an asteroid. It is unclear where he actually comes from, whether he was an original creation of Warlord Egg or not. As soon as he arrived, he swore allegiance to King Munch and became his personal inventor. Punishous is responsible for the creation of the Robot Munchers and for many other robotic vehicles that Munchers rely on to conquer. With great success, Punishous was promoted to Chancellor and Torturer and has been assigned two assistants, Trevor and Raymond, who help carry out his punishments. He has gained a reputation for being one of the most feared members of Muncher society. But deep down, as much as King Munch adors his undying loyalty, even he has his suspicions for Punishous' true motives.

This character actually looks really solid. Some creative, original hypers will really make this character shine. Good work thus far, and good luck finishing him up.

Mugen needs something other than another Ryu/Ken/Akuma.

Heh thanks guys. The char is over 21 years old. He's got that many years of backstory behind him. He's pretty complex and I hope to add every unique nuance into everything I can. He'll be chock full of funny intros, taunts, hypers etc. One thing I wanna be sure he has are buddies.
Trying to figure out the script for that. I currently have a volunteer who is helping me with just the normal attack scripting. But if you wanna help with anything else. Please pm me. I'd appreciate testers too. I'm a complete newb with scripts so I wouldn't mind all the help I can get.
One final thing is his voice.. I'll be wanting the perfect voice for him so I guess I'm making a call out to people who are good at providing voices to creations. I'll post it in the requests thread what exactly the type of voice I want.

That has crossed my mind :) We'll see how successful Punishous is. Its not like I don't have room for others. Dimension W is a complex place, a huge variety of different alien species and characters. Each would be unique in fighting style.

Some more news. I've managed to go through a nice tutorial and work out myself how to script the attacks. Now Punishous has all his crouch punch/kicks, stand punch/kicks and air punch/kicks. Just need to tweak the stats for them and move the collision boxes to the more suitable points.

At the moment I've just finished animating his dust cloud and skid marks. Now I need to work out how to include it as a seperate element in his running animation. Do you guys know how I could do this? Plus I'm a little confused with how I could script a "super jump" and a "run in" intro animation like Flash and Sonic have. Can anyone help or point me in the right direction?

I've updated the first post with two anim gifs of his running animation. Got these online really because I'm asking help in a thread about how I can add the "Eillm" dust cloud as a seperate element, trailing behind as he runs.  I take it you write it down somewhere in the cns and cmd files as a type of hitspark or something.

Long time no see Infinity Mugen Team. Finally some progress has been made on Punishous. I've managed to finally get Snag It working and can finally showcase my character in sound and vision.

He's not ready for beta release just yet. I'd rather have his various intros and outros and a few special moves finished before I did so. Anyway.. here are some videos you may find interesting.
