I've searched FAQ's for this, and all say that it's not possible to make a cancel/back button that's not the esc key, without negating the esc key, but I know there has to be a way to do it. The only way I can think of right now is to actually decompile MUGEN and add it in the code, and that's not going to happen.

Launch a simple winbatch script that listens for a keypress that returns the escape key.

partial what I thought - looks like we need to tell it that so and so message should activate a command. such as "EXIT"
...but I need to study meh C++ to learn the correct commands. It also seems like there is only a few commands scripted into mugen a la the ones you usually find in docs.

Also with the cancel button, it'd have to be disabled in fights, or we'd have to map a pause button with a menu that gives you the option to resume or exit, which I think would be a good idea.

I found a guy over on KingAnon's Mugen Kingdom forum who claims to know a little about C++ so we'll see what happens. I'd love to be able to have this feature added to MUGEN.

Yeah the pause screen thing is one of my goals.

 :o can't wait to see what we can come up with.
