Doctor Strange Trailer Released OnlineMarvel Studios has released the first official trailer for director Scott Derrickson's Doctor Strange, featuring Sherlock's Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role.
Cumberbatch revealed the trailer on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on ABC (also owned by Disney), appearing as a large head on a video screen with a booming, echoing voice - in a comedy sketch. Before revealing the trailer, he made a balloon animal, then disappeared.
One of the most anticipated films of Marvel's new slate, Doctor Strange has already been teased in previous movies (notably Captain America: The Winter Soldier), and marks the introduction of magic as a major force in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (its use by Scarlet Witch being comparably minor, and Thor's related magic being specifically explained as high-level science).
Doctor Strange follows the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions.
Derrickson is directing with a cast that includes Cumberbatch as Dr. Stephen Strange, Tilda Swinton as The Ancient One, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo, Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer, a.k.a. Night Nurse, Benedict Wong as Wong and Mads Mikkelsen will play an unspecified villain role.

Doctor Strange Poster Revealed
Shortly after the reveal of the first Doctor Strange trailer, Disney and Marvel Studios revealed a second poster for the film.
The first poster debuted earlier Tuesday to promote the trailer release, showing an enigmatic look of Doctor Strange, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, turned away from the camera and looking out the window of his Sanctum Sanctorum.
The second poster is much more mystical, riding the "Sorcerer Supreme" title that Doctor Strange is destined to achieve. The caption included with the twitter reveal was, "You wonder what I see in your future? Possibility."
The image shows Strange again in front of the window, but much closer up, looking directly at the camera this time. He has his hand in front of his face - though his fingers are basically transparent, allowing him to look through it. From his hand, fingers bent in a spell, emerges many colored lights.
