Anyone have decent PC knowledge? I have a problem with my motherboard

Was going to OC my CPU so I can try to get better performance on Crysis 3, Metro Last Light...etc.

Bought an aftermarket cooler for the occasion

While applying thermal compound on my CPU the CPU comes unseated and I think bends some pins in the middle of the socket (It's an intel motherboard) but the CPU seats fine and the PC runs fine and keeps decent temperatures.

But I worry those bent pins may cause an issue down the line. Should I try to fix them or get another motherboard? Or will it be fine like it is?

Make sure you watch how hot it gets. I recommend downloading speedfan: http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php

It makes sure your fans are running at full speed and lets you know when your getting too hot. You can google your cpu chip online and find out what its max temp is and you can make sure you don't go over that for too long or you'll start getting shut down issues and those pins might melt and cause problems then. This should help prevent you from having to buy a new motherboard for a while, but eventually that's what you'll have to do.

yeah i went ahead and bought another motherboard anyway. I only used it for 2 days like this. Messing around with overclocking and stuff like that. I have not took the chip out yet. Just not have turned on my computer since monday. (bent the pins on saturday prior. You think the CPU is fine? You think the pins have had enough time to melt and damage the CPU?

As long as you keep it properly cooled it should be fine.
