Simple; they went with 'Benny' because he was a pretty Bishounen, like much of this game's own cast. They likely only went with Terry because he's SNK's mascot.

So far i've seen: a total rip off of Kyo, a mix between Ash and Rose(from SF) who is more broken than many MUGEN characters out there, a Kula rip off and a Po(From Kung Fu Panda) look-a-like...the rest of the cast seems ok to me, but the game must be tested better to prevent that ridiculous level of spam

That second vid, with that big muscular dood, he was clearly built over Alex (SF3). Stance is near similar and I saw a few anims that were straight Alex. On the plus side, when I get my hands on his sprites, they could come in quite handy. They are 2D hi-res and not 3D, right..? Can't quite tell.
