Switch M.Bison,Vega,Balrogs names around in mugen? cuz i swear on everything that it urks me when i tryed to find them to download them and all i kept gettin was m.bison for vega or balrog in place of m.bison it was hella annoying

welcome to the world . people call them by what ever name they want. its like Princess Peach and Princess toadstool. What happen is when the characters where original release they where given one name. then when they released it in other places they change the names, given nick name, etc. Some people like the the original others like the new variation/ name. its the creators to blame but it not like there calling out of name. they just perfer one over the other. most places have descriptions of the character to avoid you DL'ing the wrong thing . The only place that dont are usually warehouse. Rule of thumb if there is no description dont DL it. Ive caught virus from mugen characters do to being careless.

That's true, but for Street Fighters case the names were changed because of boxer legend Mike Tyson.

The character Balrog was known as Mike Bison originally but was changed to avoid a possible lawsuit of using the boxer's name and likeness when the game transferred over to a new territory.

Wow i learned somethin today i ain't know they based him off mike tyson..i mean i knew they based fei-long off bruce lee but not the boxer from tyson wow..i wonder who else they made a char from that was in dedication to a real person?

So when America was getting the game the stupidetly changed they're names to what you where confused for! so it's not basicly a Mugen Thing it's actually Official that M.Bison is really Vega, while Vega is Balrog and Balrog is Bison! I know how you can get confused but that's the truth, just Google it!

Well actually i knew that in japan M.Bisons name was vega but i didn't know vega and balrog names were different tho so yea but i just hate how when u download vega balrog or m.bison for mugen you have to make sure that its THEM that your downloadin and not the other char...its rather annoying

It wasn't stupidly done. Remember in Street Fighter 1 or Fighting Street (whichever version you played or saw it as), The was a character straight up named Mike.

However in Street Fighter II, Capcom USA was afraid of being sued for copyright infringement by Mike Tyson but couldn't just get rid of the character. So They decided to swap the name out and since everyone else's name fit their character well, the only choices they could figure wouldn't be too far of a stretch was to change Balrog to Vega, Leaving Vega with M.Bison, which quite literally means Mike Bison.

actually...imy sons nick name we all call him is ....Smurf.  so i cant hate them that much offline...but online in folders that supposed to have actual characters in them to play as.....yeah, hate them with a passion!

Yeah, had Boxer stayed M. Bison, there was a pretty high likelihood that Don King would jump on the chance to make money off Tyson.

Also, they swapped Claw (Vega/Balrog) with Dictator (M. Bison/Vega) since they thought Vega wasn't evil sounding enough.

well if you really look back at the old street fighter mug of Balrog you can see it right then and there its mike tyson^^
That was done on purpose. They had to change his name around from Mike Bison to Balrog when the game came to america because they didnt want to get sued
