which is stronger? proto or x?

I'm currently working on quints techniques. I'm working on his arm cannon. I've been incorporating many things into it and this question arose; which one of there busters is stronger? X or proton Proto? I my self think the proto is cause the way it functions.

This is bare bones. No armor upgrades included.

Well, considering X was created after Proto was, I'd think maybe he might have the advantage, especially since his can be upgraded as well.

That's what I thought at first too but then I started to think? Protomans' buster is stronger them rocks. Much stronger! Protos' ultimate attack is an charged shot that is drains is life, its unstable, and to my knowledge noone been able to stand up to it.

X on the other hand with out any of the armor upgrades charged shot..... Well.... Strong but we seen it blocked, stopped, deflected, etc.

I'm a super biased opinion, but I think Proto's is more powerful.

Protocannon is supposed to be too much energy for him to handle, and being that it has seemingly never been brought to its limit (nothing has surpassed/withstood it) it seems to be the stronger cannon. X would probably not be able to handle the energy required for the Protoshot, either.

I would think that x's charged shot would be of about equal power, but with out the drawback of killing him.
Light would have figured that out the bugs in that upgrade willy gave protoman, and would give it to x
