Does anyone know how to make a smart palette for any character?

I guess it depends on who you want the smart pal for and what not

You have to individually edit the sprites first.
A guy told me one time, "Don't let yourself get attached to anything you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you feel the heat around the corner."

Personally I think the easiest way is to take the sprites and use the lasso, or whatever other selection tool, and pick out the area you want to have smarted, then Hue swap it out/colorize it (eg. turn it green if it was gray). This will keep the original shading, but will give you the palette. Do that for every sprite, and make sure to keep it to 256 colors.

There night be another way that is faster though.

On GM's Ibuki.

Already did this sprite of ibuki.

This sprite was on my sfa palette.

And maybe you guys are going to ask (Where did you get this color?)

Someone made a mod of ibuki. Here's a picture.

Smart Palette in Fighter Factory:

Step 1) Make a plan and chose the colors that will be involved.

Step 2) Make the new palette and make sure it is selected as your color palette. A lot of these colors won't actually be on the character yet since you havn't made the smart palette yet.

Step 3) Export the sprites... Sprites/Export Sprites/SPR Maker

Step 4) Edit the sprites one by one to add the new colors where you want them.

Step 5) Compile the sprites back into an SFF file by using SPRMaker that comes with Mugen.

Done! Step 4 is the hard part and there are tons of different ways of doing this. This is the only time I use photo shop for mugen because you can record scripts that can save you time but that's for another time.
