and in more news...

Sony announced a PSP Engine for PS3 at the Game Tools & Middleware Forum 2011 in Tokyo, which allows developer to quickly port PSP titles to PS3, it offers high-res rendering, DualShock 3/Sixaxis control, 3D stereoscopic support, Ad-hoc Party support, memory expansion and common save data between PS3 and PSP.

Capcom posted a statement regarding to Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D's save data cannot be erased. Capcom community specialist Shawn Baxter said "There was no intention of lessening the experience of the game. Essentially, it was treated like an arcade fighting game. You unlock characters, levels, etc and they just stay unlocked as they would in an arcade machine. There was no hidden motive to prevent buying used copies. It's not some secret form of DRM. It's simply the way we designed the save system to work with the arcade type of gameplay."

I'm still hoping for Rock, atleast as DLC.

like wise as i said before..im thinking in the end before release He may be a regular char or a DLC also like you said.
But now seeing Billy poppin up on my guess im assuming billy, yamazaki and mary may team up again like 97.while rock and some others are DLC. but im also im thinking Billy. Rock and Blue mary may be the new team in some odd way haha...dunno. Im hoping between new char entries and DLC the console gets a complete 40 chars. its already 30 now and billy just made it 31 i think.

anyway i hope he does make it. hes a fan fav and a cool char in general

i feel that indeed. i hope rock does make it in. he was my main in cvs 2. the combos look hella sweet and those chaotic lookin hypers/supers are just screamin for me to learn them so i can do some cool comboing it up to hit those supers in the right timing to chain it.  i was itchin for a new KOF to hit me hard and this one is a big scratch and a full blown knockout so far. 40 characters sound good to me and i be happy with em all.

for PS3 UNCONFIRMED: Australian Classification Database reported that Square Enix will publish Elevator Action Deluxe, a remake of Taito's classic spy action game. The remake will be produced by B Project Inc.

Square Enix announced that Dragon Quest 25th Anniversary Famicom & Super Famicom Dragon Quest I.II.III will be out in Japan on September 15, for 4440 yen. The game includes Famicom and Super Famicom version of the games, and a bonus preview trailer of Dragon Quest X.

RUMOR: Digitimes reported that Sony's Taiwanese partner Foxconn and Pegatron Technology will being production of PlayStation 4 in late 2011. The PS4 will have motion control similar to Kinect and will come to the market in 2012. At least 20 million PS4 will be delivered by the end of 2012

Capcom's senior VP Christian Svensson said the company will probably never use the single game save system any more in future titles. The single game save system in Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D has angered many customers because they cannot start another new game

That and the fact that I don't have a 3DS are why I don't have that game.
(Okay mainly because of the 3DS-not-having problem)

Konami will release the PSN version of Castlevania: Harmony of Despair in summer, previously an Xbox Live exclusive, the game will have local 4 player co-op mode.

Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida said that the US$249 price for PS Vita was the top priority at the beginning when development begins, because they don't want to make the same mistake as the PS3.

PS3 hacker Consoledev leaked a PS3 Debug Firmware v3.66, which can turn the console into a developer debug console. However this does not mean custom firmware can run on the PS3.

No real worries, you can't run debug FW without a special "TEST" console.

While Capcom has announced a box set celebrating 15 years of Resident Evil for Japan, there hasn't been any word of a western release, which is sure to make western fans green with envy

The box set includes a whole heap of Resident Evil games with Resident Evil Director's Cut (PS), Resident Evil 2 (PS), Resident Evil 3 Last Escape (PS) and Resident Evil Revival Selection (PS3) making up the full set. Revival Selection comes with updated HD versions of Resident Evil Code: Veronica and Resident Evil 4. So, five games in all playable on the PlayStation 3. Additionally, the set includes soundtracks from both games in the Revival Selection and a bunch of pins and stickers.

Expect to see the Resident Evil 15th Anniversary box set released on the 8th of September in Japan. Pre-orders will be opening soon, so don't miss out on this great set (play asia.com)

PSthree
Publisher: Sony Computer Entertainment
Platform: PlayStation 3
Genre: Hardware
Origin: Japan
Release: --

RUMOR: Gadgehit reported that Sony plans to reveal PSthree in mid-August, a redesigned PS3 that is even smaller and cheaper than the current PS3 Slim model.

Sony has always revised their home consoles towards the end of a console’s life-cycle, so that it is significantly smaller, and cheaper. Whilst some may argue that the current PlayStation 3 is already a PS3 Slim, what they may not know is that Sony asked media outlets specifically not to refer to it as a “PS3 Slim,” but rather the “new PS3.” So a PSthree is definitely still on the cards. GamesCom was the stage for Sony’s PS3 redesign announcement the first time, who’s to say it won’t happen again. The event takes place between 17th to 21st August in 2011, and we’re hoping to be surprised by some PSthree news. (Source: Gadgehit)

and in more reminders and news..

-Shortly after the price cut in Japan, Nintendo announced a price drop in North America, the 3DS price will drop by 32% from $249 to $169 on August 12. In Australia the price will drop by 29% to AU$249.99, no plans for Europe yet.

-Konami has postponed the release date of Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D from 2011 to sometimes in 2012. No reason was given, but the reason is assumably the sluggish sales of 3DS.

-Capcom and Sanrio announced a partnership between Street Fighter and Hello Kitty at Comic-Con. The two companies will release a wide range of co-branded Hello Kitty X Street Fighter merchandise starting in mid to fall 2012, include Hello Kitty dresses in Street Fighter costumes. It is uncertain whether the partnership also covers crossover videogames.

"Capcom has long admired Sanrio and their ability to create memorable and cherished lifestyle brands so it is a distinct pleasure to partner with them for this new cross-over line of merchandise," said Capcom Director of Licensing Joshua Izzo. "The combination of Street Fighter and Hello Kitty will offer fans a whole new way to experience our characters."

Sanrio marketing VP Jill Koch added "We are always looking for new ways to surprise our fans and partnering with a strong brand-focused company such as Capcom is a natural fit for us. Hello Kitty and Street Fighter have a dedicated core following around the world and our collaboration brings the legacy of both brands together in a fun and unexpected way."
