Street Fighter confuses me!

Well, I'm very confused by many things, but I'll start with this: How is vega related to M. Bison?
I'm going to ask more questions as my answers are answered.

I think the name translates when it goes from Japan to America... Like Vega becomes Bison, Balrog has a different name too I think.. it's just something lost in translation.. I know they changed the names a little in that PS1 Marvel vs Street Fighter game...

The names of Vega M.Bison and Balrog had been changed when the game was translated from japanese

Like akuma = Gouki

You have the bad guy of the story named : Vega (in Europe and I think in US too his name became M.Bison and everyone says Mister Bison)

His Right hand would be Sagat (his name didin't change)

You have Balrog (the man with the claw and the mask) renamed Vega (since his spanish the name sounds good) it's the second right hand of Vega/M.Bison

And last but not least you have M.Bison (the boxer named after the famous Mike Tyson as M for Mike Bison) renamed Balrog after that it's the third right hand of Vega/MBison

M. Bison was the boxer in Japan. Look at him he is the spitting image of Mike Tyson who was the baddest man on the planet at the time. Capcom decided before they bring the game to the states they better change that up or risk a lawsuit. I really think they were more afraid of Mike tyson just coming to the Capcom offices & beating everyone up...

So all they did was change all the names around.

Japan.....Balrog  changed to  US..... Vega ( claws & mask )
Japan.....M. Bison  changed to   US.......Balrog ( Boxer )
Japan......Vega  changed to  US........M. Bison ( main boss )

M. Bison was supposed to be a parody of Mike Tyson in Japan. But due to legal issues, they had to change his name. So they swapped it with Vega. But Vega doesn't sound like a good name for a boxer. So they swapped it with Balrog.

Oh, Sagat isn't really involved, he more like the neighbor kid who visites each episode to eat their food and sit on their couch... kind of like Erkle in Family Matters.

Part of the source of that all started from not wanting to get sued By old Boxer Mike Tysons management in The US. so they wanted to be on the safe side and just switch around the names.
