Now the strong point of this game is supposed to be the story and it better be cause the graphics (look ps2ish) and the gameplay (looks even more simple than zelda) look very unimpressive, especially for something published by square enix.
Neways ill surely rent this to see what its about and its coming out next week from what i understand.

Opinions? thoughts?

I do not see the whole looks ps2ish as far the graphics go, the only reason it might look like that is because of poor video quality on that youtube video. Yeah game play looks pretty much like your basic action game play today. Any ways all I know is that the whole
hermafrodiet helper in the game is really screwed up.

Well once we see a better quality video, I can't really complain about the graphics.

Neir actually looks like a pretty cool game and atleast the main character doesn't look very femine.

Depends on the version, Gestalt has an older Nier and Replicant has a younger hero. I preffer the old one a million times, enough teen heroes.

Blame Square for my bitching setting the bar so high on the technical aspects that im not impressed heh. Ok ok comparing with ps2 is too much.

Still gameplay just seems too simple. Ive heard there is customization involved and in games like those the gameplay can indeed be simple yet cool and appealing like Vagrant Story or most mmorpgs but until i see those i shall remain bitching.

That's really a tough review, but this is not a mainstream game like God of War or Devil May Cry, so I was expecting a low score.  Whoever wrote the article really seems disappointed that the main character wasn't sexy or good to look at, and you can tell that they did not fully play the game to enjoy all of its unique aspects. 

But back to the reviewers opinion on the character.
Does every videogame need to have a sexy looking character in order for you to enjoy it?  I would imagine that normal or non-sexy individuals would be more of a bad@$$ than a pretty boy or girl.
