Disabling characters control

How can I disable the control of a character to play by it self in arcade or survival mod ? Some times it happens randomly when bashing buttons but I think this is a bug or every character has some combination of buttons to get the AI play for you ?

ctrl + 1 to disable the controls of player 1 and enable the AI to take over
and ctrl + 2 to do the same with player 2

hahaha 10x and this is set to be for all characters right ? no messing with the files ?

yeah it should work for all characters, without changing anything in their files
