Resonance of Fate vs. Final Fantasy XIII
« on: November 19, 2009, 06:04:00 PM »
Two JRPGs being released on the same day (according to gamestop.com). They both look awesome! I'm kinda hoping gamestops wrong here. If both these games are released on the same day FFXIII is no doubt going to overshadow Resonance of Fate, which would suck. If they do come out the same day, I don't know which one I'd get. I've been waiting for FFXIII for a while, but then again..... what if I get that and Resonance of Fate becomes rare or something. What if I get FFXIII and then find out RoF is better? Decisions decisions. Not only are they both JRPGs being released the same day, they both employ similar battle systems. They're turn based, but once you start your turn you have full control of your character. Something like that, lol. Check out these trailers:

Right now I'm leaning more towards FFXIII because the trailer shows more environments. If RoF is in that one place the whole game I might be turned off......

RoF looks just as awesome though. Also, FFXIII always gonna be around. RoF is made by tri-Ace, so who knows how long it'll be around. What if it becomes rare like games by Atlus? Thats what I'm really worried about. Also, FFXII sucked. If FFXIII is like that then I don't think I'll like it.

The first game looks interesting, but its just too gloomy for my tastes. XIII seems alot more colorful and lively.

I'm getting both FFXIII this Dec and End of Eternity in Jan.  I loved FFXII as I do all of the other FFs.

To me FFXII had one of my favorite stories which was nice and made for a mature audience.  Though since I enjoy every Final Fantasy the same, so I doubt anyone will listen to me. :(

I hate FFXII. The stories a huge borefest, the characters are bland, and the license thing was stupid. Why should I have to pay for equip stuff? Who the hell thought of that! I prefer Crimson Gem Sagas system were you pay for abilities instead. Although it does suck having to pay to reveal the ability then pay again to obtain it.......

Back on topic, I agree with ya BigJ. FFXIII looks like it'll have a huge world. RoF on the other hand all seems to take place in one general area, which could get boring after a while. Also there's only 3 main characters. Pretty lonely.....

Also, is it just me or does Zephyr from RoF look like the G:MotW version of Terry Bogard? And Vashyron looks like Rock Howard. Maybe its just me, lol. Wonder if FFXIII has SNK look-alikes.
