Problem with every screenpack i use

ok can somebody please help me. everytime I install a screen pack there is always blank unselectable spaces like for example

char|char|char|char|space|space|char|char|char|space
its very annoying especially since it takes a lot of effort of organise all my characters FOR EVERY SCREENPACK can someone please help me i am currently using Mugen Battle Collesium

You're not adding chars in the select.def correctly.
