FF screwed up my characters AGAIN!

Okay this is really pissing me off. I had restored all the characters after my initial screwup.

Now all I did was replace the portrait picture, using the change open, and my characters are all f*cked up again! I'm following the exact rules. I even watched Spidermew's video numerous times.

For example, I simply changed Dr Doom's portrait using the Change PCX option, but once in the game, his molecular shield is all screwed up in colors. I didn't TOUCH that at all. The same thing happened to about half of my characters.

What is going on! I literally was up until 4am last night trying to understand what I'm doing wrong. I just want to scream!

Did you by any chance hit shared pallette? That has screwed me up on more then one occasion when I was working on Shin level 2 Akuma. Most portraits if im not mistake should always be on indivdual pallete. Not the shared pal option.

if your portraits are at the begining of the sff file it will mess up the sprites that are not on the shared pallette. if the portraits are at the beginning you could remove them and put them at the end of the sff file. also you could check the file after you add a sprite and see if it messed anything up before you save. if it does just dont save and load the sff again and put the new sprites at the end of the sff or make them where they share the pallette but it will take forever.

First, no I always make sure that Shared Pallete is not one. So that's fine.

MGMURROW, it seems that with most of the EoH, MvC2, and MvC stuff, the 9000,0 and 9000,1 are the first two each time. All I do in that case is go to 9000,1 (usually one click over), choose 'Change PCX', and change it to the picture I want.

If I delete the portrait on one that is screwed up, and then readd the 9000,1 at the end, will that fix it?

Try that, but make sure to add it at the very very back of the file, all the way to the right fully.

Post Merge: April 04, 2009, 09:26:25 PMWell, I have no idea what the heck is going on now. I've uploaded my HUITZIL and KEN to show you what happened. Ken is really bad. Again, all I did was use the 'Change PCX' button to put in a different picture, that's it. How could that have caused ALL these problems? I don't understand. I have the most current version of FF too.
