sound issue

my uncle is running windows vista and his sound on Mugen is messed up and won't play during the title screen, vs screen and the character select screen. It plays in game though.

I have everything set up correctly in the system def. At one time hte sound worked during the title screen then I went to arcade mode and back out to the title screen then it stopped. I don't know whats wrong???

Try running it in XP mode(right click mugen exe --> Properties).

I tried it and my sound still didn't work. I don't know what could be hte problem. Could it be a sound acceleration issue?

The sound plays when I first boot it up at the title screen and the loading screen, but the character select screen and Vs screen it doesn't play, then when I back out the title screen music doesn't play.

I don't know why. I can't think of anything else.
