where to find pics for screenpacks

I was wondering where people get pictures or do they usally use wallpapers they find at  google or Is there some special way or place that they use

I hope someone tells me 

 
What is the size the pic usally has to be to make it hi-res or low-res

hi-res is 640 x 480 and low res is 320 x 240 you can use any pic if you want but good screen pack makers customized all there own pics....you can use a wall paper if you like but most of the time it will cause color loss in your screen pack......and try to use Hi-quality pics to low res pics dont look very well....   anymore questions just ask

I got gimp and ever time I change the scale size to 320x and the moment I click in the other it changes it to 329 so I change that to 240 and it changes the 320 to 233

I'm making a lo-res menu screen but dont know where to put the 320 x 240 that u say I have to do I got photoshop 7 and gimp if that HELPS

if your doing a low res pic for a screen pack open photoshop and file-new- you want your image 320 pixels by 240 pixels and resolution to 72 and background to transparent. and click ok open you pic and make sure the layer in unlock by double clicking on it and unlock....and take the move tool top right of the tool bar and drag your pic that your using to you new file file that you created and you might have to resize by "Edit - Freetransform" and resize to fit you 320 x 240......sorry if it sounds confusing  if you have a question just ask

When you use the scale tool click the icon next to the boxes where you insert the height and width sizes.

Well when that little error happens, you just go back and change the numbers again and it usualy sticks the second time as long as you dont like close it and open it again
