Control Configuration

This is somewhat of a noob question, but it's been bothering me nonetheless.

My friend and I are trying to play MUGEN together, with me on a controller and him on the keyboard. No matter how we configure this, it doesn't work right. My controller always interferes with his keyboard, in that when I press light punch, his character does it as well.

If someone could explain this, or better yet send me a saved configuration file, I'd be more than grateful.

On top of all of this, is it possible to hook up 2 controllers? If so, how?

Well what kind of controller are you using.
Ive used 2 controllers and they dont interfer with keyboard controlls.
I use the logitech precision (ps1 style controller) it works fine, and i can plug in an Xbox360 controller and use that too.

Perhaps you just didnt go to the options and turn Joystick to auto instead of disabled.
And you just didnt set the buttons right for player one and player 2.
Maybe its the keyboard config. You have to make sure the keyboard config for player 1 and 2 are compleately differnt, otherwize you'll get interfearence.
