How do i make sprites transparent? when i replace some sprites and play in mugen i can see the pink or black color box surrounding the sprite. how do i make it so that only the sprite shows and not the background color?

Make sure the first 2 sprite slides (Icon box and Picture box) are not deleted, and the other 63 should be deleted. When you open a sprite, optimize and put the colors on the left. Make sure the pink or whatever the background color is is on the bottom right corner on the left. Add the sprites and select the ones you want. Click share and apply them and save them into your character as a number other than zero. Then go to save and save it the same name as the character. Then go to sprites, make sure the picture box sprite slide has "Shared Pallettes" select, then add the group. Click active transparency to make sure that it worked.

this part is can get complicated not to mention hard to explain. first you will need a program, photoshop, gimp, or something of that nature. although photoshop works differently from the others as far as the pallete colors are concerned. so you may want to use something other than photoshop.

ok thats good. but you must first convert the colors with another program. i dont think you can do that first part on fighter factory.

Yup, or Gimp. I used Gimp, but another way is to save the sprite when it is opened in the pallettes menu.

well if you use gimp then delete the pink background until you see the checkered bg. save as indexed color and where the trans color is (the color bg u just erased to see the checker bg) make it the 255, 0, 255 (pink color). and it should be the very first color in the color grid (for photoshop it should be the last color). then use that eye dropper icon to click on that color to make it the checkered icon (trans indicator). save as pcx and thats it.
