I am going to just add this in here so I don't need to start a new thread about the same program. If I want to make the ground opening up & animated realistic  flames coming out , should I use this program ? Is it easier than foing the manually in photoshop ?

Hey F_A . What's happening ?

I need to do some stuff like that . I'm going to look into particle illusion for this . It seems like it will be easier to make the fire than in photoshop .

lol, I just answered your question over at the Scruffy Dragon forum, how may places did you post this question at?...

1) Follow all the tutorials on how to use particle illusion and learn the software (of course ;) )

2) After you make a project, save it as a bitmap and it will create as many individual BMP files as you have frames in the project.

3) Convert all the images to 256 colors. I use Paint shop Pro to do this. The sprites don't need a shared palette or anything, just simple convert them all to 256 colors. BTW... Chances are that Black (the background color) will become your index 0 color (which ever color is set to index 0 is the transparent color).

4) Add the BMP sprites to your Mugen SFF (not shared palette) then animate in the Mugen AIR file. I would suggest you add alpha (A or A2) in the AIR file for each frame of the animation to make the FX a little more transparent and it helps to clean up the edges too.

5) Finally code the particle illusion FX action number from the AIR file into the Mugen CNS file.
