Nice release man but i think that Lilth is a bit blurry. A couple of days ago i started to make my Silent Storm High-res and I am still on the first sprite and trying to make it more detailed. I have been working on it for a couple of days now to get it to exactly they it looks with the original sprite. It is not an easy job and you have to put a lot of effort into it. That is what Ironfist has been teaching me and he is right.
Still great release but put more work into it.
Also i will be making a tut on how to make characters hi-res. It will be a few easy steps but after that it is all on you to make the character perfect.
yes as freedom says it's way too blurry still a good effort tho..but using the Blowup, Genuine Fractals or Bicubic wont do it on it's own.

Hey!  Thanks for all the comments.

I forgot to mention she was just an experiment.  Just to see if I could do it.  I'm fairly new to MUGEN but I'm really interested in all the possibilities of this little engine that could.  A couple of things:

1.  I used Alien Skin Blowup

2.  She only has one pallette because the others seemed to cause problems?  (I'm new)

3.  Thanks Sludge for the portrait advice!

4.  Yep.  She's blurry.

Thanks again guys and gals.  I'll probably do more characters.

someone else did the same thing with evil ryu and evil ken by reu and with bison as well, by the pics i wonder if it is the same process, it is over at (ahem) a certain fighter guild, i praised the guy and most others made negative comments, i think this is awsome and commend all the positive people here.

I seen that Evil Ryu & Ken over there also via the new threads . I thought those were pretty good too . I mean galactus did put " fake " Hi Res . So I really don't see why anyone would complain that she's not truly Hi Res . Maybe I'm just not picky , but I thought she looks pretty good .

on that site they want you to use little icons when releaseing them and they dont have a fake icon, so he used the hires icon. he explained how he did it in the post but people are too damn pickey and judge-mental. heh he..mental....anywhoo.....those filters are awsome. it gets rid of the jaggies and smoothes the color......cough:akuma:cough.....

You do realize that, technically, it would mean he used the wrong icon. Not really being judgemental, moreso, for some, it's false advertisement. Fake HR = not HR, therefore, fake HR shouldn't be given an HR tag.

I'm no "fan" of guild, but if you're gonna complain, I'd say think over the reasons first before saying that kind of stuff.

i completly understood why they were saying that but it wasnt just one person, more people complained than gave any real feedback. in the guys release notes he told how and why he did what he did. he knew it wasnt real hi res. but it was like they just wanted to bash him in the head with it. so i knew why but what happened was overkill. yea...it may not be true hi-res. but after his first release he didnt ues the hi res icon. but they still did it. so all i was saying was positive comments were better. people can be positive and still tell how they feel.

Just to try and end all the commotion. Why not just make a new to tag for filtered chars. Maybe F-Res or something :-??
That way ppl will know the difference and it wont be so much of an issue maybe it'll lessen the bashing. Some ppl like this style.

It reminds me of A Scanner Darkly.

yea...it may not be true hi-res. but after his first release he didnt ues the hi res icon.

He used an angry smiley. That's not much better, especially since he isn't using an appropriate icon *and* saying they were HR when they weren't. That's false advertisement, even if he explains himself in the readme. But that's like me telling you, after enjoying some good, real butter popcorn, that that butter isn't real.

And, also, you have to understand that not everyone likes blurry sprites. If you like it, fine. They may have been beating a dead horse a bit, but it's not quite bad as you make it out to be. I personally think the sprites look okay. Great? Better than the original? No, but it's something different. But don't go around calling people haters just because *they* don't like it.

And, really, the only feedback that could be given ultimately boils down to "looks great" or "That isn't Hi-Res".

Some complaints are on sprite quality. Most others have been complaining on the fact that the person at guild had called his sprites "Hi-Res" even though they weren't. The guy here at least said they weren't really hi-res, so I have no qualms with him. But I, as well as others at the Guild, don't like it when filtered sprites are considered high resolution, when they aren't.

Seeing how it's only a sprite edit, the "misc" logo would suffice.

I was one of the people at MG who voiced my opinion, not complained, about that sort of thing. Not the actual tags used, but the fact that this persons (not the TC for this topic) had the audacity to label his creations 'high res' when they weren't, and actually tried to pass them off as high res creations. I even specifically showed the TC the difference by posting images comparing Guilty Gear Mugen creations next to his Nevil Seven, or whatever, bootleg look, pointing out how that was actual high res. Not to be a jerk, but mainly to get across to the TC and the members at MG who just kept going 'zomg high res dis is da crap omg omg!!!!shift+1' that the term high res, shouldn't even be included in the title. It irritates even now when I think about it.

Anyway, as for the actual tags, I agree, Misc would do fine, or the regular character one. Certainly not High Res.  ~X(

ok man thats why he called it "fake" hi-res...... he didint want to professionally make it into a true full all out hi res char.  he jus wanted to do a quick and easy way.  which actually looks pretty damn good...
