That's in Salta, a northern province. Normally there's a myth like this in many areas. For example, in the Patagonia provinces (south, especially in Neuquén, Rio Negro) there's a local version of Nessie from Loch Ness, named "Nahuelito", which rumoredly appears in lake Nahuel Huapi.
In the Pampa area (Buenos Aires province countryside and surroundings) there's a monster called "Chupacabras" (literal translation is "goat sucker", but there's no accurate word in English) which kills cows and mutilates them with a surgeon's precision.
And now this gnome in the northern area.

It's no wonder we're not taken seriously... but that's for other, more serious reasons.

Also back in the 90's there was a sensationalist show named "Nuevediario" which showed a certain video of some possessed jerks here too. Too bad it's not online so I could post it.

But there's this thing... a hammock moving by itself!!! (?)

This caused a lot of sensation here. There are many stories about it: some say there was a kid who died 20 years ago and his spirit still haunts that hammock, others say there was an animal slaughterhouse where that park is located. 'Meh.

Oh and by the way: There was an ignorant in Youtube who thought Argentina was in Africa!!! (*Goes into Super Saiya 3 mode*)

I think the Chupacabras attacked all of Latin America! There're histories of him all around from Mexico to Brazil!
