which is your favorite:anime or manga??

i gotta go with manga,because its almost always better than the anime,for example the mangas of Historys strongest disciple kenichi,katekyo hitman reborn(where the guy of my avatar comes from...Tsuna Sawada ftw),hajime no ippo,eyeshield 21 and berserk are way better than their anime versions
there are some cases where the anime is better,but those are really rare

Well to me anime brings the magna to life.Anime is what really captures a persons attention.Take dbz for example,when the anime show came out people was blown away by the fight scenes and big blasts,andt etc.Magna's are ok if you want to read but anime is where the real action takes place

anyhow, the biggest reason i like the manga better is that it is what the writer wanted it to be
usually the animated series are done by others so they can sometimes change dialogue or add new scenes. Naruto is the biggest example with changing animators. Just look at naruto's facial expressions in the fillers.

Tough choice... I can't decide. For example, Saint Seiya and Dragon Ball have equally good anime and mangas. For example I liked DBGT although most people didn't, but I also think Akira Toriyama did a good thing in ending the manga at DBZ. And the Asgard saga in Saint Seiya was awesome, but on the other side the manga mythology wouldn't make sense if it included that saga.

There's also a lot of filler in manga.
One of the biggest examples I can think of is Ai Yori Aoshi.
It's one of those type of manga where it starts out with a guy, and he meets a girl, and she lives with him. Then other girls from his past live with him in the same house. The thing is, only the main guy and the main girl are there for story development. All the other characters are pretty much just filler. The main guy obviously only wants the main girl so there's no reason to have all those filler characters there. If you took out all the filler characters in Ai Yori Aoshi, the manga would probably be about 3-5 novels of main story development, rather then more than 11 novels, some which are even only filler, and I don't like it when I pay 10 bucks to read filler. The worst part is when they have 4 filler novels with 1 scene which progresses the story.
So filler is pretty much in both anime and manga.

yeah....fillers SUCK (Bleach had one about a phantom baking a cake e_e)

anyway...if the anime makes a good conversion of the manga (ie. Hellsing or Rurouni Kenshin)
then i prefer the anime, on the other hand if the animators literally f@ck it (ie. Gantz) then
i stick with the manga

also there is stuff in the manga that never made it to the anime (ie. Saint Seiya prequel
and Rurouni Kenshin's final arc)

bottom line i priorize a good plot over the graphics,
but if i can get both then that's the way to go

Mangas I go for.Less Annoying fillers,uncut,cheaper,and can read anytime.I've got way more mangas than anime.If you like a particular Genre like Shounen then anime would be more up your ally since it has all the noises and punches and kicks you hear.I'm not into Shounen.So Mangas is more up my ally since I like Romance,Hentei,Comedy,Fantasy,Adventure & Drama.I can't stand it in some anime of how they have fillers.The Love Hina and Negima anime are both alright but their manga counterparts F*cking owns over their anime counterparts.I have the manga and anime to both of them so I would know.But for others like DBZ and Getbackers the anime is better with all of the music and action and such.Anyway Mangas it is.


 

There should seriously be an anime section here at Infinity just like they have at Infantry and maybe I'll start up a topic on what anime/mangas you like love the most and anime/mangas characters you like.

They did that in Berserk too, but they didn't do anything crappy in the end like Inuyasha did. No "Hey, we're still after the bad guy thanks for watching our 200+ episodes". Unfortunately Inuyasha was canceled because a voice actor quit because of the longevity of the series.
As for Berserk, they had to cut around the manga due to budget problems. I think if they had an endless budget like Pokemon, they might have actually done everything the manga did.

In al honesty, even though I'm an avid reader (Lit grad ) I almost never get the opprotunty to read manga. I often get to see animation though, although only a few series really grab me.

I have to go with anime only cause i have never read a manga, but the one thing manga does have over anime is that if the manga is a hit it will continue on for along time where as anime usualy not all the time but most of the time has a pre-destined episode life
Example: grappler baki one of the best anime, only had 2 seasons but the manga basically had those 2 seasons and continued on after the show ended... Sucks cause the anime left off with a lot of questions unanswered.

actually,the shounen mangas are better than the animes too,compare Historys Strongest Disciple Kenichi with its anime counterpart and do the same with Katekyo Hitman Reborn(i think you would like the first part of the manga,its just comedy and no fights like normal shounen have,but right at the Rokudou Mokuro arc it starts to be like any shounen but of higher quality than the normal shounens have)

I like them both. Manga is way more in depth and keeps you wanting more, and you get more. Anime is the visualization of the manga....only shorter in some cases. It brings the pages to life and takes away the reading and speeds things up. And I agree with Violent ken, Puck is annoying. But I F**king love Berserk. I dont like the fact that he lost his eye and his arm but guts (Gatsu) still kicks butt, especially with that gun. I never did get to play that Berserk game for ps2, can anyone tell me if it was good or not?
