To celebrate National Power Rangers Day, we're revealing one of our projects: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers - It's Morphing Time!
It's a project made by fans, for fans, free of charge.
Some information about the project:
- Good old beat in up style, with mechanics
- Local co-op up to 4 players.
- Fast paced action, like in classic Konami beat em up games
- Possibility to play with the human form and the Ranger form
- Simple special move inputs (directional + button)
- Unlock new characters as you progress through the story.
- Megazord battles? FOR SURE!

This project looks amazing! I love the attention to detail with the clothing from the show. I love the smoke explosions. I love that you've given them different animations to differentiate them better and display a bit of their personalities. I love ALL the details and smart choices you've made here. You should be very proud. If there was one thing I wished for though, it'd be the green ranger. White Ranger is fine and all, but I love my original Green! I hope he's around!

For our game, we are going to bring several characters that appeared little (or did not appear) in the Power Rangers games, such as King Sphinx (wip)

The Leader. The OG. The First Red Ranger, Jason Lee Scott! Naturally, he was our first character. We took the SNES version and gave him an update. We wanted to really pay tribute to the series as best as possible, so we took his outfit from the Day of the Dumpster and used it for our game. He is ready to lead the rangers into battle to protect Angel Grove from Rita!

Here is our version of Zach Taylor, the master of hip hop kido. The SNES was cool but our Zack has style. Fans will immediately recognize this outfit from the series. With a new dance move set he will definitely be a fan favorite in our game.

Every 90’s boy’s first crush, Kimberly Hart! The SNES version look was a very good one, so we did not want to deviate too much. Her gymnastics background will really shine in our game, making her one of the most unique characters in our game.

Pink Ranger Power ! Here is our version of the Pink Ranger. As you can see we took reference from Cammy for her idle pose and brighter up the color to make it pop. She’s beautiful and ready to kick Putty butt!

Triceratops! An OG Ranger is making his return. He is original sprite from the Genesis was dull in color and Power Rangers was full of color, so we brighten it up and gave him a more accurate idle along with a better helmet.

I worked on some things I always wanted to put in the project:
1) Added what I call "desperation moves", something I use in my Avengers project. When an enemy (Boss type) is low on energy, some of its moves change. The changes can be greater speed, attacking twice, making combos, calling for help or even new moves
Goldar, for example, already does this when it calls for help (which it only does if it has low energy, flashing red). Now, in normal form, if you are low on energy and throw a fireball, it fires a second one right after (notice in the image that there are two fireballs)
Minotaur has a cool move where he slams the ground and rocks falls from the sky, on random positions.From there, two things can happen:
If there are 3 or more players, he will make 3 rocks to fall*
If he has low health, he will repeat the move, spawning two more rocks.
The fights with Goldar's two forms are now a little more different from each other, as the giant version uses moves that the normal version does not use. For example, the giant version of Goldar uses double-fire fireballs as its main move, and when low on health, it can fire a third.

2) The game takes into account the number of players on screen at the same time, making adaptations to the gameplay that include:
- Boost in the maximum amount of health of all enemies (the more players, the greater the boost)
- Increased number of enemies
- Possibility of new moves for enemies
- Greater amount of collectable items, such as power ups and life ups.

Preview of the battle against the Mighty Minotaur (which will not happen in this level). New enemy variations have been added, as well as new animations, to make the game more dynamic.
All bosses in the game have the "Desperation Move" system: as soon as they get low on health, they start using new moves and calling for reinforcements.

Do you recognize this stage?We populated it with rocks, and now they have different sizes and color. So each time you play the stage, you will get a random set of rocks.

Btw, its the same case of the plants on the first stage - try entering the stage many times, each time will give you one random plant from 4 options.

So the select screen has the white ranger. In the promo, you've been showing the Dino Megazord. Does this mean we will see a playable Thunder Megazord?
If the two, Dino and Tiger are co-existing will we see Boom Studio Zord combinations or formations that use the Boom Studio Zord combination logic?
I am assuming the Green Ranger is hidden or part of the story but will we see a green and white team up? A side-by-side battle against the forces of evil? If you don't wanna use game logic and just have them both because you can, there is always Green Ranger version 3 Matt. Use Matt so as to not have two tommy's...
Lastly, with all that said, are you planning on looking into the expanded lord?
Personally, I think it is nice to start off with the classic stuff but then do some story bits that explain the expanded lore so you can have the Mega Dino Tiger Zord, The Dragon Tiger Zord, Thunder dragon Mega Zord, etc. All combinations we dreamt of as Children.
